OK..Ok.....this could legitably be billed as Dumb and Dumber.
Two coaches, two QBs, and no receivers, decent defeses, decent kickers.........Is anyone excited about this game?
OK Let's go watch two inept offenses and two bad QBs with who knows who at receiver!!
I guess if ya like defenses,........ this could be up your alley.
There is a late start time, so a more natural supper hour. That's the saving grace. 50 salt and peppa wings at 5:00 will go down better than a helping at 4:00, or a Sunday at 11:30am!!
Prediction???
TO 24 - Winnipeg 13

Montreal was a blast. I had all the Als fans in my section laughing. Anyone see me on TV?
Anyways I actually think we have a shot at beating the Argos. Dorian Smith is moving back inside, with Doug Brown. Walls and the new guy from Calgary. But the offense will stall at the most crucial of times.
Toronto 18
Winnipeg 15
I'm being bold by predicting we'll score more than 14 points!

Andy,
That's a very pertinent comment. Yeah, my High school team might actually outpass the Bombers!! We do have a better QB, though (ours has a brain!!)
Sana, Sana,Sana, Just because we are not picking the Bombers doesn't mean we are not "good persons!"
It's just that we do know there really isn't a Santa Claus or Easter Bunny!!.....and after watching Egghead disembowel the team, even Doug Brown mouthed off in his column regarding the state of affairs, ...there just is no hope.
But, like I said a day without Sana is like a day without sunshine! hey what about your team's chances vs. ??? Staxx??? You're on Stealth aren't you?
Neal, Glad you had a great time in Montreal....and you actually did come back to Winnipeg. I think I saw you and your two friends..Was that you guys up on the building roof???

Perhaps if Tim Shea were a few years younger he could spark the Bomber passing offense to life. I shudder to think where we'd be without our rushing game. I wonder how often a team has finished a season with more rushing yards than passing.
Back to my first question. I've searched tons of websites looking for CFL stats regarding fewest yards passing in a season etc. with no luck.
The main CFL site and TSN only show records with "most" or "highest" yards etc. If someone has a link with more extensive stats info. regarding CFL records I'd appreciate it.
cheers

Spider, i just feel bad hence choosing the bomber victory.. my heart goes out to them. Truly. They've been PUT in the situation they're in by err.. the organization..
The spirits are down & I just want to give all the players a hug! lol
Oh! And MY teams chances are great! May the best teams win this weekend :)

Much as I am a Bomber fan some research (finally) indicates that the Big Blue are on track to set some records for futility.
Back in 2003 the Tiger Cats went 1 -17. Although the Bombers won't break that record there are a few they've got in their sights.
2003 Tiger Cats : 293 points scored.
2009 Bombers : will have 327 at current pace. (that would be worse than the Jeff Reinbold years)
2003 Tiger Cats : 4,045 yards passing.
2009 Bombers : at current pace will have 3,010 yards passing (ouch)
2003 Tiger Cats : 13 passing TD's
2009 Bombers : on pace for 10 passing TD's
2003 Tiger Cats : on average had possession of ball for 28 minutes per game
2009 Bombers : currently have possession of ball for 24 minutes per game
regardless of these scary stats.. GO BOMBERS

Ha!ha!
They love Serna....At least he's playing good.
So what do ya say Bryant lights it up for Calgary tonight?, same with Printers for BC? Doesn't it seem like we now have a roster full of "expansion team" like players? Can anyone begin to count the number of Divisional All-Stars we have let go in the last 9 months??? It's mind boggling.
Now we have a team of "Nobodys"............I mean really the 4th string QB from both the Alouettes and the Stampeders???? Really how much effort to "scout" and "recruit" by looking at other teams "guys that can't make the real roster" list.
Did anyone hear one of Kelly's "off the cuff" remarks when asked about QBs? He said" The last time he looked Doug Flutie was asking for $20,000.00 a game,"..........Well.do it!!!! the way this cheapskate outfit operates, that would be a good deal. Bring in Flutie for the last 6 games, win most of them, qualify for play-offs, and see what happens.
Hmmmm, what if, huh?

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Your faith in the Blue was rewarded, and so shall you be!!! You are the winner of one of those cherished autographed, footballs!!
Bishop and the D and the entire team actually played very well. A great evening for football also. Hooter's had the table for eight ready,we got Amy as requested, and the night started off with 3 hours of pre-game fun. How many pitchers can one table drink, is beyond me!!! I wonder if that place ever goes dry?..we certainly didn't.....
Did anyone see Ben Shea (Assassin QB, Tim's son) escort BUD GRANT, out during the half-time show? (not sure who had the bigger thrill Tim or Ben!!)
As one of the elder statesmen in the league, I believe Tim actually saw Bud Grant coach, and Ken Ploen (why do ya think he wears # 11) play!! I know most of us don't!!! So that was nice for the "boys."
How about Bishop???? He was awesome! and Amey???!!! What a great over the shoulder catch!! Bombers were for the first time this year worth the money!! The defense actually coralled the inept TO offense. But it was great seing some receivers actually cause seperation and get open!!!! I bet Bishopwas saying the same thing!!
OK who do they have next?
Congratulations, to the one and only, one of a kind, still keeping the faith...bomberfan, Sana!!
OK, where is the next stop for the band wagon?

Sana, you still alive??? It's been a month....Man I thought you left us for parts unknown. I had your ball at your last game....but alas.....
No prob, get yourself a few guys and another gal and come down to the Golfdome on weekends for a litle co-ed Touch football action. (Ya need to gals on the floor at all times) There will be more balls there than ya know. Action starts Nov 7 and goes till a wek before Xmas.

Yeah.. I rolled & sprained the same ankle so couldn’t make it to the last game :( I should get my ball just because I’m such a handicap :( Ah well.
Co-ed you say? Hmmm.. something to think about :)
Currently, its flag time & we're playing in the championships on Nov. 1st! Feel free to come out & be our groupie! :) :)

Good Luck though!

Here we go Sana Here we go.
Well OK, so the Panthers??? Yes doesn't "so and so," play for them? Give us a little pe-game promotion. Who should win?
and don't be dicouraged by the fact Hamilton will probably get a new one, Moncton is working on one and BC is getting a new roof...
We should start a fund...oh wait...I just donated a ton to the U of M...scratch that.
Focus.........it's not cold out it's just fresh..or at least it's a dry cold

If by so & so you mean a buncha basketball & hockey players? lol It was a good game. We're not TOO upset about coming in 2nd in a championship game :)
I'm thinking the only reason i want the stadium on campus is that it will follow up with a new fitness facility! THAT my friend, we could use on this campus!!

Really?
What about Max Bell?
Does Frank Kennedy still have the weight room upstairs?
That's gotta be pretty ratty by now, I would guess. Is it still full of Universal machines When I was there they converted the dane gym into a nautilus room...
Ya know there is always Shapes??? They have modern stuff!
Yea remember when we talked abouit a new stadium at the U of M? Those were the good old days....Now we'll be worse than the two hell holes Regina and Hamilton, as they are talking "new stadiums.
It killsme that this province is so poor, lacks any vision, and we are stuck in a 1950's mentality. I mean settle the First Nations landclaims up North, build those thre prosed dams.....get the power down here, invite big manufacturers here, give away the power for a can't say no cost, and bring the dollars to the economy so we can afford to get into the 20th century...At least we'd be catchin upto the 21st century.
Doesn't it suck that Winnipeg's "hay day" was in the early 1900's....wasn't that whenthe current stadium was built.
Hey why don't they declare it a National Historic site?, and get dollars to preserve it and build a modern one beside it.....I mean anyone else have an idea how we'll ever get one built???
Posted by sana | Nov 04, 2009 09:16 AM |
Yep.. quite serious! The weight room is in the basement of Frank Kennedy. The equipment isn't bad at all. It's the lack of windows & the fact that the gym is in the basement of a building.
Mind you, regardless of the condition of the gym, it shouldn’t stop people from working out. I mean if you're dedicated enough right..?
Pft .. i wouldn’t go to shapes because i rather spend that money on ... shopping! .. err, i mean philanthropy :)
I still stand by all the good that's going to come w/ the new stadium on campus. The current one would be demolished if the bomber stadium was to be erected.
Tell ya what, you & I should attend the VERY 1st game that's held in the NEW stadium on CAMPUS?!
Oh & Max Bell & Investors Group is for varsity sports & convocation.
ps. speaking of varsity sports, hard times for the Bisons ..
Posted by spider | Nov 05, 2009 03:25 PM |
Weight rooms in basements suck. ya need light!! least I do.
If a new stadium is erected before Hell freezes over, and I am still alive, you got yourself a date!
I won't comment further on the eligibility issue, as I am in contract negotiations with possibly one of those parties.
Ironic though, Bisons got into the playoffs because of a suspended player from Simon Fraser, and now they exit....one of life's little lessons????..which one??? I am not sure.
I mean no sense disciplining the clerk who didn't send the notice out(or her boss), let's punish the furthest down the ladder, all 80 team members!!!!
Ya that makes sense!! NOT!
Posted by sana | Nov 09, 2009 03:37 AM |
Oh there's lights down there. Except the one time there was a blackout while i was working out & the entire window-less basement went pitch black .. what a hazard for people doing free weights! Not cool.
I'm not sure if the boss (ie the director) should be punished. There has to be 1 person who's responsible of checking eligibilities. Down w/ that person.. unless it's Dobie, i heart Dobie :)
So, like i said, i may or may not be for/against the new stadium .. but again, purely for selfish reasons. W/ the way the bombers have performed, they dont even deserve fans let alone a new stadium. Ah well, only time will tell :)
Posted by sana | Nov 10, 2009 03:49 AM |
WHAT?! Are you TRYING to get a reaction out of me?? Do you think women just do cardio and .. have pillow fights? lol
& I'm not sure what my position is on the stadium. For selfish reasons, i dont want to be inconvenienced and go around construction, have all the dust going on my car bla bla bla .. for non selfish reasons, this could be great for the university etc. So i guess i'm indifferent at this point in time. Meh.

Get a reaction out of you?????? C'mon!!!!
No, it's just that most women who work out, use machines and not many appreciate the greater workout capability of free weights ( i.e. balance and the use of small muscle groups to provide that balance)
Of course some machines work muscles better than free weights.(i.e. hamstring curls for one!!) I just thought it rare, (that is from when I used to work at the Y), and certainly at Frank Kennedy, women rarely even went in there.
Now about those pillow fights....???? :)
