There I was, at 8:50 am, October 21st, getting ready to go to church, about to sip a sip of my Grand Marnier laced coffee, looking outside at the heavy fog that rolled in over the the marshes off the lake....hey wait we don't have one of those...., and the phone is ringing!!!
It was my favourite da Bear, on the other end of the line, "Hey it's 10 to, and we can't get in...what's...oh wait... is that Milt Stegall, hey Milt.....Can you get us in????" and the line went dead...... Of course I started to worry, that we were locked out, so I forwent the church, and hustled on down to the stadium....only to find the Da Bears and the GG DUBS in the midst of a 0 - 0 tie!!!!
Yep it went to Overtime. GG Dubs scored first to make it 2 -0. The Da Bears came back to tie it up 2 -2. It eventually went to 25 converts before Rachel, (bless her soul) caught the winning 1 point convert to make the final score 3 -2 in favour of the Bears.
Scoring for GG Dubs was Maryane Salangsang with their 2 point convert. Monica Brar provided the tie for Da Bears,and good ole Rachel got that go ahead point.
Congratulations to both ladies teams.
