Got a questions. Im looking at refing this but I will be out of town that the Ref clinic is being held. Is there any other way I can become a ref, or do I need to be at this clinic??

Thanks
Shuan

Look hopper, good thing refs don't have to write out reports...anyway, yes you can get individual instruction from the best in the business....seeing as your my teammate, you get that for free!!

I'm not available that weekend also, can I get hooked up?
Unfortunately, I don't know anyone but I would really like to get involved.

Just noticed that the ref clinic is on the NFL draft weekend. Maybe that's not important for you guys who cheer for good teams, but I cheer for the Raiders! Draft day is huge!

I hear JaMarcus is pretty huge. Rumour has it he's pushing 300. I guess he loves donuts too.

Yeah Six has folded like a cheap lawnchair on a breezy afternoon.

Hey Cliffy, settle down! Somebody has to cheer for them.

Ging, it's not true, he showed up and he's not even close to 300. But I'll bet he does like donuts though, who doesn't!

Exactly how many games would I have to ref if I wanted to play on 2 teams?

Brett the max it would be is 10, but I think it will be much less than that once the regular refs pick their games for the year, 5 maybe. I wanted to point out that the clinic is free, and knowing the rules well will help to become better Touch football players. Brett I also wanted to point out that once you sign up for a few games to ref for the year, and say you become sick or can't make the game, as long as you have someone replace you for that assignment, the game is still counted as one of your mandatory games(loophole you might say). This rule will go a long way to insure that we have a full regiment of refs for each and every game. The way I look at it, this isn't such a bad gig to run around for a hour and a half while making about $30 bucks.

You could also look at it as a way to pay for your second team :-) Or if you're really eager, you could get more reffing assignments to pay for your whole season.

For those that would like to attend the reffing clinic but had previous commitments that weekend, the league is now offering another Level 1 (only) Officials clinic on the following Friday, May 2nd from 6:30pm-10:30pm and the following day from 1:30pm-3:00pm. Check the home page for details and email darrell@wtfl.ca to sign up. Space is limited.
