Last chance if you want to play on 2 or more teams and meet the League policy!

A third and final reffing clinic will be offered on Friday May 30th, CanadInns Polo Park, 6:30-10:30, with an on field 1:30 - 3:00 on the Saturday.

If you are a player playing on two teams,(or more) this will be your last chance to register and be trained as a sideline official, and therefore meeting the league policy requirements.

If you're just interested in reffing you'd be welcome as well. Sign up by emailing myself at darrellmazur@aol.com. Cost for this clinic is $20.00/player.

Failure to comply will result in single team status only as well as a forfeit of any wins that were played prior to the clinic date.

This post was made on saturday, i have a member on my team that also plays on another team, He doesn't have a car, and makes it to games only if someone can pick him on the way. He tried contacting wtfl regarding this problem (no response), as he can't really get him self out to ref games. I don't want any of my wins forfeited, so if this punishment is being inforced it puts my team in a bad spot. So as team rep and captian, I will put myself up in his place if allowed. If im really goin to loose wins cause of that, then sign me up for the clinic and i will take his place. Chris Wentz-Chisholm (internal_urge@hotmail.com). Let me know if this is ok with the league. Thanks.

We got no email. Drive him to the clinic

1.) There was a response. I told the guy to get to the clinic. There are buses, taxis, friends, bicycles, walking. If you can play on two teams, you can certainly find the time to get to the clinic. Nice central location Canad Inns Polo park. 6:30. Lots of time to get there. Shouldn't be a problem.

im just trying to fix a problem, i don't want my team getting screwed over here. If he couldn't make it, i was willing to fill the spot, and you get your extra ref, and everyone is happy, right? If you don't want that, and he can't make it, what are my options? Cut him? i dont want to loose any wins. let me know. if you have any problems feel free to call me anytime.

He has to show up to the clinic personally, no exceptions will be made. If he doesn't show your team will default.

how does that make any sense for me, what am i suppose to do. im not his mom, if he doesn't show if fucks my team over?? thats why i wanna know what i gotta do to insure my team is ok, if one guy doesn't do what he's supose to. Do i remove him from my team, im not getting any defaults cause of one guy.

he's a part of your team and therefore your teams responsibility. If you feel he is going to f*ck you over, probably don't want him on your team to begin with. The clinic is required, have a teammate drive him? If he doesn't attend, make sure he doesn't play on more than one team.

Yep you remove him from the team if he isn't going to show. I have practically my entire team playing on multiple teams, with one exception they all have showed up to the clinic or will at the end of the month. We had one guy miss the clinic and wasn't willing to ref, he is now gone from the team.

really, how does this guy live? he doesn't leave the house unless someone picks him up? Give him some bus fare.

lame excuse.

See all im trying to say, is its NOT MY PROBLEM, its his and i don't wanna get screwd if it goes down this way. So i just want to know what i do as team rep to make sure my team is ok. If he quits a team now, is everything cool with league? You say remove him from the team if he doesn't show, well im still screwed for the games we play till then right? So i wanna make sure we are good for those games so what do i do now to make sure everything is fine??

If he is not going to attend, he can only play on one team. if he plays games for both teams prior to may 30th, and does not attend the clinic, all wins are forfeited. If you do not want to default, either do not let him play until he attends or make sure he's not playing on a team other than yours. Make sense?

Comment Posted by cwentz May 13, 2008 12:36 PM

yes makes sense, thank you. just to clarify, should i remove him from my team or just not let him play? or vice versa for his other team?

Comment Posted by duhard May 13, 2008 12:43 PM

you'll only default games he plays. If he's only going to play for one team ever, might as well remove him from that roster.

Why are you guys making this so difficult? Just let this Chris guy take the guys place as a ref! That way you still have an extra body as a ref and everybody's happy! The guy obviously signed up because he wants to PLAY football, not REF football.

yea cause im sure after talking to him he's just goin to quit a team, at least that way u would get an extra ref out of me. but whatever, i know what has to be done to make sure our ass's are covered. thanks for the fast reply.

peace,
Chris

for this reffing clinic on the 30th, is there a cost for it and how does the player sign up??

Comment Posted by duhard May 21, 2008 08:37 PM

this one will cost $20 per player, and you can register by emailing darrell@wtfl.ca

I'm catching up on this thread kind of late. But if your going to have a dictatorial rule to force people to ref you should also have a non-moron rule.

But Glen, then you couldn't play/post......

For all the new people to the WTFL. Glen (Nomads/Legends),will never say a good word. You could say he is quite the Dyck. Nice guy in person, however.

Scott: I'm trying to keep up my reputation. Your going to tarnish it with that compliment.
