Do you like playing football in an organized league?
This league?
Well there are a couple of requirements.
1.) The last team on the schedule returns the goal post pads to the proper location. Detils are specified elsewhere on this website. Please familiarize yourself with the specifics.
I have just received a third report that teams have either returned the pads to the wrong location, or not at all. Tec Voc, Julie Riel, and now Maple Grove.
This is becomming tiring.
Here's the deal. If you are responsible for returning the pads, and do not, and the pads end up missing, each pad costs $150.00. You will now owe the league that amount, for each pad, payable before your next game, or else face termination from the league.
2.) Garbage and water bottles. - Here's the latest. You ain't in the Pros, we don't have a custodial staff to clean up after you...er.. that would be your job! I have just received a third call (hmmm. 3 weeks 3 calls....) regarding garbage.
I absolutely guarantee you this. Should this abusive treatment of the facilities continue, we will be evicted!!!!Fields are hard enough to come by as we beg and plead for locations, and have received some pretty nice ones. However, disrespecting the site, and subsequent teams that have to wade through the garbage is not going to fly.
Team reps, I have asked our secretary to send you a copy of the latest complaint. Please get the team to eiither take their garbage home, or put it into a trash recepticle if available.
OK let's get these minor problems taken care of and prepare for a great season.
Thanks

The refs are paid a good wage and are employees of every member of the league. They should damn well be responsible for the pads. What are they a bunch of premedonnas. That should be part of their job description. I'm fed up with the monkees showing up walking around the field for 3 hours (and I mean walking,I don't see any of them running to mark the spot. They stand 50 yards away and mark the spot. Only an idiot would think that that is good enough.)getting paid $40+ and then leave. On the garbage issue I 100% agree the pigs should pick up after themselves.

And, just for clarification, the refs are not the "employees of every member of the league," as you suggest. You are not my boss. I am the employee of the League, and you pay the league for the privilege of playing. I suppose that would make you the customer. And the customer is so rarely right...

Our fields seem to be pretty good, this season.
Congratulations should go to Jon Franklin for rotating fields, so they don't get "used up"
There were a couple golpher holes at Optimist, but were those filled up? ( Cliff great job, finding that shovel and fill, two weeks ago.)
Also Congratulations to Brad Kelm, who moved games to the Lesperance site from Maple Grove a couple weeks ago. Great job guys!
Also Thanks to the teams for picking up the used up gator aide bottles, since the start of the week.
If all of the league's 1600 hands all chip in, could you imagine how great our playing sites and the league can be.
Also for the first time in 25 years I experienced two different teams, help bring in the cones at the end of the game. That was really appreciated. Thanks!!
Now to that end, we still need to get the fields lined.
Also, if you have found some golpher holes let Scott mcArthur kbow. He and his small committee are responsible for field maintenance(lining). So any problems, send him an e-mail, and we'll work at getting them corrected.
Great 1st month.

Cobras63: You are sadly mistaken my friend. Let me inform you of how the non-profit and corporate worlds work. Every non-profit organization has members who pay dues. Every public company has share holders who invest in that company. Those members and share holders are owners of that company or non-profit organization. They have the power to vote. Next your going to tell me that The MP's do not have to answer to the voters. Without knowing who you are I can bet you are a bureaucrat or a misinformed individual. And further more Cobras63 I can only give you the argument, not the intelect to understand it, as I know you will come up with some way out in left field response.

Oh Glen, your patronising is especially amusing when you can't seem to work out how to post a single response, rather than 4 consecutive copies of the last line of another post, not to mention the poor spelling ("your," "MP's," "intelect"), and bad reasoning (I'm either a bureaucrat OR a misinformed individual? Hedging your bets on that one? I'm going to guess you're either a plumber or some other occupation...).
I still want to know what league is paying $40+. I want in.
I would love for you to buy some stock in a company and go try to boss one of the Board around. Unless you're (see, that's which one you need there) suggesting every player vote on who can be a ref? My MP is not accountable to me the individual, but to the constituency; he doesn't vote how I tell him to, but (in theory) how the majority of my constituency tells him to (Party Whip aside). My personal opinion couldn't matter less to him... which is similar to how much attention I'm planning on paying to your nonsense about refs getting the pads.

what's a nomad? is that just a cleverly disguised way to spell 'damon' backwards?
and doesn't omnipotent mean you can't hold your pee?
sorry, just checked the dictionary and that is definitely something else. hmmm, judging by your posts, i don't think 'omnipotent' is the word you're looking for.
incontinent! that's what i was thinking of.....

five, i have more dandelions than blades of grass in the summer.
six, i could go on forever, but this site can't handle the truth.

I think I might become President next year and when I do I will run this league with an iron fist. First off the refs will pick up and return pads. To restore some respect all players will bow to an executive member when approaching them. All teams would be required to drink beer before, during, and after games. Also all refs will be required to shave their legs and heads if they must so they can look as good as our gal ref on Sunday.( Not sexist just a compliment) Also I saw her run not like some of the other primadonnas. Further more I vow to get some compitent person to line the fields. What is up with that. This would make refing and playing so much easier. If you wish to vote for me my running mate will be Brad(too short to cover tall guys)Giesbrecht.

That was quick and far too easy, Glen. Another convert to the "Glen is right" club. Sometimes wonders never cease. But hey, I doubt he has a Bandits team cap, and an official WTFL Board Game.
And which refs are getting paid by the players? That's a bribe. What's the rate, just out of curiosity?

I think both the team and the refs should be responsible.
I think the refs responsibility should be to remind the team after the final game to return the pads. They should know which team is responsible and have the necessary directions and instructions to make sure they get returned to the proper place.
And the team returns them.
Simple as that.
The refs are doing a great job this year...you couldn't pay me enough to get cursed and yelled at.

I can't believe people actually curse and yell at refs. Then again, I suppose there are different standards for adult behaviour and a safe, civil society. Complaining and appealing, I can understand. Asking for explanations, absolutely. But there's no excuse for abuse. Any serious concerns about a ref's abilities or behaviour should be filed away for after the game and sent to the league.
