Avengers, at the Nationals, defetated the Pirannhas one of the top ranked teams in Canada, during round robin play. Congratulations!

The Assassins also won their "pool"going 3 - 0. They crossed over and ironically met the Avengers in the quarter-final. The Assassins won.

The Assassins then lost in the semi-final to the Ottawa Canadians, the top ranked team in Canada the last few years.

However, just postwed on theTFONT website,

Spartans Conquer!

Well there is a new king of the roost and it is the Spartans. Congratulations to a very deserving team after a very deserving win. The lads from Burlington played a flawless game with Robbie making all of the throws and their d allowed no big plays after a bit of a slow start and wore our O down. It is always a lot of fun at the Canadians when we often get a chance to watch many AA games and I had fun watching the Spartans over the weekend. I know I mentioned this to a few of you but extra congrats to Frank for his fine play. His pick and romp in the fish game was just such a monumental play and the everyone fed of that recharge and look where it took you. Thanks for the opportunity to have a big team picture at the end I plan on having a nice 8x10 of that one and framing it asap. Congrats again you sons of bitches and don't think I have forgotten the vicious two handers and "ass slaps", we owe you big. "

So the Assassins lost to the 2nd ranked team which would leave the Assasins 4th ranked Nationally. (Not bad for an 11 man roster) While the Avengers would finish??? 8th??

Congratulations to both teams.

Meglomania (from Regina) also played well and likely will also finish in the top 10 rankings. These were the only 3 teams from Western Canada in the 16 team Elite division. There was one Regina team in men's intermediate and one womans's team from Regina also.

Finally, also taken from the TFONT website was commentary about the ranking system that Ontario and Quebec use in their Trillium Cup tournaments( which is used to rank teams for Natonals) There was commenteary about some Quebec team, and how they jumped ahead of some Ontario teams, because they defeated a Quebec team in their Provincials and got that team's spot. Reference was made to the Eagles from Winnipeg, who also finished in the top 16 after last year's tourney, but because they did not attend TOC this year, the Avenger's got their spot at TOC. This allowee the Avengersto compete in the Elite Div. otherwaise if the Eagles had not earned that spot, the Avengers might have had to play Intermediate. Point being...that although the Eagles did not attend TOC2007, their contributions and efforts allowed another MB rep to excell!

Well done Eagles! While you were not there physcally, your presence was still felt!!

It should be noted that the Eagles defeated the Avengers in this year's Elite div semi finals, last week, and will compete for the Elite Championship vs. the Assassins, Oct 21st!!

Congratulations to Assassins and Avengers, both teams had an excellent showing at the TOC Nationals. Both teams showing that their respective rankings were deserved. Should have some good seedings at next years TOC which preliminary reports have at St.Jean Sur Richelieu, half hour outside of Montreal.

Again Congrats to both. You represent Manitoba well and of course...could only come from the best damn touch football league... the WTFL!!!

Hey is that right???

St Jean??

Again, I must encourage anyone who wants to experience a "nothing like it!!" experience, this is it. St. Jean has had their tournament in Fort St. Jean, a military fort. All the fields are at one location. They have a huge Bar B Q and Beer tent, complete with souvennirs and massage! The hotels in St. Jean are 10 minutes from the fields. (Have to book early though)

St. Jean is about 40 minutes from Montreal!!

Start saving. Quebec table dancers are amazing! Amazing!!

How about them Winnipeg Refs? You guys any good? What did you ref pee wee?? OK I do know different, but give us the skoop. Just how good are you guys?

Congrats also to Mr. Blue Sweats Guy (Cliff Kitchen) for head reffing the AA National Mens Final. In this sport, there is no bigger game to head ref than the one he did.

So they must like bad reffing out there too then, lol
