One of the more colorful attributes of the Winnipeg Touch Football league are the characters that proliferate the headlines..er sidelines. In todays question, let's see who knows just who some of those "sleepy-comic- book-like," characters are.
Awlrighty.
Todays question and answer are a 4 parter. In order to get the win and get a victory in the stat column. (unlike the Blue Bombers....wasn't that sad) you have to answer the 4 questions correctly. (Yes this is like a U. of M. Biology exam!!...sort of)
Who are:
a.) "the Jumbo Rumbler"
b.) "Sweet Pea"
c.) "Hollywood" (2) (the current player) (There was an original, if you get that one, I'll throw in apair of "Mazur league" flip flops!)
d.) "Sarge"
All are wonderfully talented young men, who currently play in the WTFL today.
Yo Sweet Pea, if ya want to spin me a rhyme,
that would be fine,
'cause in seein you
but it's even better not bein ya!
Bendin over all the time
not like Beckam , but like bender
is so sublime.
I am not sure what that means,
but you're on my,old guys, All-Star team!
OK that's all for now,
just give me an answer,
I know you may be a lover,
but as John and Paul said,
you ain't no dancer!
Peace, love, out,
when you got it mon, give us a shout!

Hmm!
No huh!
JK,.... You are correct, Burnt by Bender,a.k.a. the Jumbo Rumbler is indeed, Marty Bender. Sweet Pea is the ageless one, Phil Samm. Hollywood, is Rob Rabichuk, and Sarge is the brains behind The Hitmen.
Congratulations Jeff, you now are in the game, to qualify for the grand prize.
Oh Yeah the original Hollywood was Bob Dowbiggon of the 1980- 85 version of the Assassins. The former Winnipeg Rod star slotback went on to stardom with the Assassins and was the main man, back in the early eighties. Now living in Vancouver, Bob was also back for the recent Assassin re-union, and it hadn't looked like he lost a step.
